Finding materials for some parts of the National Curriculum can be difficult. To help, we have developed the CITB-ConstructionSkills Awards Scheme (CCAS) to give teachers structured learning for Key Stages 1 to 3 (aged 5 to 14).
This is a flexible resource that provides activities to motivate stimulate and challenge students of all abilities. The modules support the National Curriculum and focus on:
- design and technology
- science
- literacy
- numeracy.
The construction themes supporting these areas are shelter, structures, materials, systems and careers.
The scheme aims to provide teachers with valuable free digital learning resources, made up of units of work that help and support curricular activities.
It can also be used to motivate and reward students, whilst also raising the profile of the school in the community and provide links with industry.
Students participating in the scheme will not only develop skills and knowledge of the construction industry but also improve their overall abilities in the related National Curriculum subjects.
