What exemptions apply to assessors and trainers?
Construction Award and Foundation Certificate trainers must hold ENTO units L9, L11, L12 and L13, or meet the Awarding Body’s exemption criteria (see below). There is no requirement to possess ENTO units D32 or A1.
External Verifiers will be checking trainers CVs and qualifications during approval visits for prospective centres and during routine monitoring. Centres will be notified by way of the EV visit planner (form VPR) that all trainers must make their CVs and qualification details available to the EV. Any trainers not meeting these requirements must achieve the ‘ L’ units within 12 months of the EV action
Exemptions: the requirement to have the ‘L’ units will be lifted if the assessor has passed City & Guilds schemes 7305, 7306, 7307, 7313, 7331, or 7407, or what the Awarding Body considers to be equivalent qualifications from another awarding body, or hold a CTA instructor card, or a Certificate of Education plan.

There is a range of publications detailed in the support materials library to assist you with gaining approval.
Once approved, centres can display an Approved Centre logo. For a copy of this, you need to submit a logo application.
